Outstanding Japanese mitsuore merchant daughter doll, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Finely crafted in Kyoto, indicating the highest level of craftsmanship.  Rare, triple-jointed, articulated figure made popular in the Edo period.  Hand-dyed silk kimono featuring plum blossoms in like-new condition.  Beautiful, expressive gofun face.  Exceptionally difficult to find a doll of this age and type in such good condition.  A remarkable find for the collector!  Dimensions:  12” long (heat to toe), 14” incl. kimono, 6” wide.
