Delightful Japanese Kabuki theater Otafuku doll, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Happy, jovial woman thought to bring good luck.  Traditionally said to have lured the Sun Goddess out of darkness with her merry laughter.  Excellent craftsmanship with beautiful silk kimono, numerous hair accessories and animated gofun face and hands.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  12.5” wide, 10.5” high.
