Wonderful signed Japanese kimekomi (tuck in) musician doll, Taisho, c.1912-1926.  Endearing expression and beautiful rendering of musician at play.  The origin of this type of doll dates to the early 18th century.  Clothing tucked and glued into grooves on the body, which is made of compacted paulownia wood sawdust in the traditional kimekomi form.  Tremendously engaging expression and contagious smile portrayed in the character of this doll!  Original signed box.  Very good condition.  Dimensions: 4wide: 7 high.
