Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Exceptional artist-signed Japanese black and gold lacquer kogo or incense storage box, Meiji period, pre-1900.  Unusual, elegant and dynamic shape in the form of conjoined Japanese-style bound books.  Enchanting natural landscapes, picturing Mt. Fujiyama rising behind a flowing river, towering pines, rocky crags and rooftops.  Tranquil water scenes with sailing ships skillfully portrayed.
