Ask About Layaway
Fine ovoid-shaped Japanese ceramic mizusashi or fresh water container for use in the tea ceremony, by American artist Robert Fornell. Lovely, textural quality and ease of portability due to hand-friendly form and light weight. Small iron impurities and fissures in the slip make the surface of this strong piece a sensual as well as visual experience. A resident of Japan for seven years, Fornell exhibitions include the Parsons School of Design in NYC, Otis Art Institute in LA, Tokyo International Tableware Festival, Ishikawa Museum of Art, and multiple shows in Yamaguchi Prefecture. The Urasenke Foundation can be counted among the many collectors of his work worldwide. Very good condition. Dimensions: 7" high x 7" at widest.
