Fabulous, tall, deep cylinder-shaped Japanese ceramic mizusashi or fresh water container for use in the tea ceremony, by artist Morioka Kashou, Showa period, 20th century.  Wonderful textural quality and ease of portability due to hand-friendly form and light weight.  Splendid hand-formed feel, the many clay impressions making the surface of this strong piece a sensual as well as visual experience.  Accompanied by wood tomobako box.  Very good condition. Dimensions: 10" high, 5" diameter.
