Charming Japanese black lacquer tea caddy kanshitsu kikuwari natsume with tomobako, Showa period, 20th century.  Distinctive ruffled surface like that of a flower blossom, the ribbing extending down the sides of the vessel.  Enchanting light gold sprinkled frost on lid.   A truly distinctive and eye-catching piece, traditionally used to store the powdered tea used in the tea ceremony practice.  Accompanied by tomobako storage box.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  3" high, 3" diameter.
