Remarkable Japanese carved wood Okina Noh theater mon frame, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926. Fabulous rendering of the facial expression, with genuine horse-hair beard denoting wisdom. This type of mfeatures moveable jaw and eyebrows, originating in the Genryu style Noh play Dance of Monkeys. Artist signed, Sensho. Comes with kiri (paulownia) wood box for storage. Very good condition. Dimensions: 16.5” x 13” (frame).  16” w/ beard, 7” x 6” w/o.
