Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Fantastic Japanese costume doll, bijin (beautiful woman), early 20th century.  This type of doll has been very popular since the Edo period, and is typically crafted for the Girls' Day Festival held annually in Japan on March 3.  Exceptionally expressive gofun face and hands. Charming seated pose.  Lovely hand-painted chirimen silk kimono with floral motif.  A fabulous find for the collector! Very good condition.
