Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Fabulous Japanese costume doll, bijin (beautiful woman), Taisho period (1912-1926).  This type of doll has been very popular since the Edo period, and is typically crafted for the Girls' Day Festival held annually in Japan on March 3.  Most depict characters from Noh or Kabuki drama.  Gorgeous, expressive gofun face and hands. Glorious hand-painted multi-layered kimono.  Numerous accessories include hair ornaments, water buckets and gold hat.  A fabulous find for the collector! Very good condition.
