Rare antique Japanese Mitsuore  or dakiningyo doll, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Extraordinary triple-jointed, completely articulated doll made  popular in the late Edo period.  Wonderful quality and craftsmanship.  Increasingly rare to find.  Delightfully animated gofun face and lovely old chirimen silk kimono.  An extraordinary find for the Japanese ningyo enthusiast in unusually good condition.  Length:  17.5".
