Dramatic Japanese woodblock print by renowned artist, Natori Shunsen (1886-1960), c. 1927.  Portrayal of actor Ichikawa Ennosuke as robber Kakudayu, in the play Toyama Seidan, from the series 36 Portraits of Actors in Various Roles.  Features fiercely intent figure brandishing lance.   Highly detailed, bold shading, dynamic rendering overall.  Signed and sealed by artist; published by Watanabe.  Very good condition. Dimensions:  14.5”high, 10” wide (print); 19” high,15” wide” (frame).
