Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Magnificent antique Japanese silk wedding kimono or uchikake, late Edo-early Meiji period, c. 1850-1880. Dramatic motif features embroidered cranes in flight amid stylized pine background. Dramatic red background.  Chirimen crepe silk.  Very finely and meticulously detailed embroidery. Slight train with heavy padded hem. These were and still are traditionally worn over the kimono and obi of a bride. A dynamic piece of art for wear or display. Very good condition.
