Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Magnificent pair Japanese samurai musha warrior and retainer dolls, Meiji period, c. 1900.  Kyoto-made, indicating a very high level of quality.  Crafted for display on Boys’ Day, celebrated annually in Japan on May 5. Fierce gofun face and fine detail in silk brocade costume. Wonderfully animated features and pose. Accessories include dramatic chest, thigh and shoulder plates, swords, banner and hats.
