The Ryu represents the ability to seek and find inner strength, perseverance and success. Since ancient times, the Yamabushi Zen priests in the mountain regions of Japan have practiced Single-Stroke Serpent/Dragon Painting, a spontaneous expression unifying ink, brush, and canvas.  Dragon paintings are thought to bring good luck and security.
