Delicate Japanese Zen Buddhist scroll, early-mid 20th century. Features dramatic and animated dragon and sacred jewel. Since ancient times, the Yamabushi Zen priests in the mountain regions of Japan have practiced single-stroke serpent/dragon painting, a spontaneous expression unifying ink, brush, and canvas. Such paintings are thought to bring good luck and security. Signed and stamped by artist and temple. An exceptional item! Good condition with a few creases. Original mounting.
