Fine Japanese Zen Buddhist scroll, early 20th century. Features dramatic and animated dragon.  Since ancient times, the Yamabushi Zen priests in the mountain regions of Japan have practiced single-stroke serpent/dragon painting, a spontaneous expression unifying ink, brush, and canvas.  Such paintings are thought to bring good luck and security. Signed and stamped by artist and temple.  An exceptional item!  Very good condition with mild creasing.  Dimensions: 46” x 15”.
