Gorgeous Japanese sometsuke (blue and white) ceramic, pentagon-shaped, mizusashi for use in chanoya, the tea ceremony, contemporary.  Sakuragawa (tantansai) style with black lacquer lid.  The mizusashi, or fresh water jar, is a substantial element in the ceremony, larger than most of the other utensils and dramatic in function and appearance.  Comes the tomobako kiri wood storage box.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  4.25” high, 8” diameter.
