Fabulous Japanese Bizen yaki chawan or tea bowl, early 20th century. A stunning example of bizen yaki, one of Japan ’s best-known, ancient and classic pottery styles loved for its use of natural shapes and the rich color of the clay. For use in the Japanese tea ceremony. Robust form, very pleasing in the hand. Potter’s seal mark on underside. A superb example of craftsmanship. Comes with inscribed kiri wood storage box. Very good condition. Dimensions: 4” x 5”.
