Fine, old Japanese Aka Raku ware ceramic tea bowl, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Gorgeous example of famed ceramic originating in 16th-century in Kyoto prefecture. Rich red and gray glaze. A unique and highly appealing item for the tea ceremony practitioner or enthusiast. Seal mark on underside. Comes with tomobako kiri wood storage box. Very good condition with minor wear to lip, evidence that this was a much loved and utilized piece. Dimensions: 3.25” (8 cm) high, 4.75” (12 cm) diameter.
