Splendid Japanese maru style obi, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926. Pure silk, fully patterned on both sides, luxuriously heavyweight. Highly detailed design includes abundantly patterned and highly detailed crane, drum and chrysanthemum motif. Lovely cream background with dazzling multicolor accents. Traditionally wrapped around waist and tied, but also makes a fabulous table runner, window dressing, or wall décor. Dimensions: approximately 4 yards long, 13" wide. Very good condition.
