Gorgeous Japanese Shunkei lacquer bento lunch box , mid-20th century. Traditionally used to store food during holidays when there was no cooking. Two layers with handle and matching pair of chopsticks. Shunkei lacquer originated 400 years ago in the Keicho Era. It features the natural richness of wood, enhanced by transparent lacquer that becomes more beautiful with use. Very good condition. Dimensions: 7” x 6.5” x 6.5”.
