Fabulous Japanese Shigaraki ceramic tea storage jar or chaire for the tea ceremony, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Traditional cream and chocolate glaze on rustic form with original lid. Wonderfully conceived and skillfully rendered. Comes with kiri wood storage box and silk shifuku case. Very good condition. Dimensions: 4” x 2.5”.
