Exquisite Japanese scroll painting, tsura or crane, Edo period, c. 1800.  Sublimely rendered reflecting remarkable skill, shading and strokes.  Features stately pair of cranes in lifelike pose.  Handpainted on silk.  Artist signed/stamped Kagan Ganku, founder of the Kishi school of painting, and renowned for his wildlife depictions.  The crane is regarded as an auspicious symbol of long life. Very good condition.  Dimensions:  74” x 23”.
