Breathtaking Japanese six-panel screen or byobu, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  A magnificent scene of court life alongside a pair of pines and meandering stream.  Gloriously rendered in still vivid colors against dramatic gold leaf ground. Exceptional composition reflecting grace and tranquility. Very good condition. Dimensions:  68” high,  24” panels, 144" wide (fully extended).
