Remarkable Japanese six-panel display screen or byobu, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Wonderful, practical size.  Ink and color on paper.  Finely detailed with life-like rendering of rooster and hens foraging beneath pine and along meandering stream.  Beautiful, still vivid colors and impression on gold-flecked ground.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  49” high, 24” panels, 144” wide (fully extended).
