Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Whimsical Japanese Yoshitsune samurai musha warrior doll, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Representing the young Yoshitsune (1159-1189), also called Ushiwakamaru, military leader and hero of Japanese lore.  Crafted for display on Boys’ Day, celebrated annually in Japan on May 5.  Expressive gofun face and fine detail in silk brocade costume. Wonderfully animated features and pose.
