Glorious Japanese black Raku ware ceramic tea bowl by Tayama Hounan, 20th century.  Exquisite example of famed ceramic originating in 16th-century in Kyoto prefecture.  Rich, thick black glaze, fine texture and form. A unique and highly appealing item for the tea ceremony practitioner or enthusiast.  Comes with inscribed tomobako kiri wood storage box. Very good condition with deliberate kintsunagi, gold repair.  Dimensions:  4 high, 4 diameter.
