Riotous Japanese painting on silk featuring group of Bakemono, late Edo period, c. 1868-1912. Bekemono are shapeshifting monsters or spirits in Japanese folklore. Their true forms are often animals, such as fox, raccoon, badger or cat. Wildly dynamic, highly detailed and inspired. Artist stamp. Very good condition. Dimensions: 12” x 10.5”.
