Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Enchanting Japanese lacquer suzuribako writing box, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Dramatic, evocative rendering of Chinese bokudou shepherd and water buffalo.  Rich, black lacquer ground, delicate color, finely patinated; brilliant red interior with inkstone, suiteki water dropper and artist’s signature.  Comes with original, inscribed kiri wood tomobako storage box.  Very good condition.  Dimensions: 1.5” high, 6.5” wide, 8.5” deep.   Features Please note that, when ordering through our shopping cart, your credit card will be processed only after confirmation of availability and shipping options.
