Extraordinary Japanese hira maki-e lacquer natsume for the tea ceremony, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Gorgeous floral motif featuring kiri (paulownia) leaf and chrysanthemum in gold and red lacquer again rich black ground.  Finely conceived and skillfully rendered.  Comes with inscribed kiri wood storage box as well as silk shifuku case.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  2.5” x 2.5”.
