Wonderful Japanese hira-makie lacquered wood ceremonial sake bowl or sakazuki and stand or haidai, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.   Graceful, black lacquer stand is lavished in intricate gold lacquerwork, featuring floral motif dramatically rendered in striking gold on black contrast.  Bold, eye-catching red lacquer sake bowls are also crafted with gold lacquer. Comes with original tomobako storage box.  Very good condition. Dimensions: 7” x 7” x 7” (stand); 5”, 4.5”, 4” diameter (cups).
