Exceptional Japanese lacquer natsume tea caddy, Showa period, mid-20th century. Glossy, cream colored-lacquer with kiri (paulownia) leaf motif.  Classic shape, with smooth, flawless carving and lacquer application. Traditionally used as a dry tea storage jar for the tea ceremony, this classic piece stands as a refined work of Japanese art. Comes with kiri wood tomobako storage box.  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  3” x 2.5”
