Sublime Japanese lacquer natsume tea caddy, Showa period, mid-20th century.  Glossy, solid red lacquer with black interior.  Classic shape, smooth, flawless carving and lacquer application. Traditionally used as a dry tea storage jar for the tea ceremony, this classic piece stands as a refined work of Japanese art. Comes with kiri wood tomobako storage box.  Good condition with minor distress and lacquer loss. Dimensions:  3” x 2.5”.
