Whimsical Japanese maki-e lacquer kogo or tea ceremony incense storage box, late Edo period, 18th-19th century. Richly rendered with abundant raised gold maki-e. Serene, lifelike rendering in the form of a seated duck, a traditional symbol in Japanese art. Very good condition. Dimensions: 2.25” x 1”.
