Superb Japanese lacquer kogo for storage of incense used during the tea ceremony, late Edo period, c. 1800-1868. A brilliant example of older maki-e finely rendered in rich gold and silver using varied techniques. Beautifully conceived and skillfully crafted. Very good condition. Dimensions: 3” x 3.25” square.
