Enchanting Japanese lacquer box with tray, Taisho Era, 1912-1926. Exquisitely rendered poet motif with cranes encircling the entire piece. Elegant form and shaping with beautiful, raised rims and rich colors. Offers varied storage and service possibilities from keepsakes to food. A lovely set  traditionally used for storing tea or incense, but perfect for keeping treasures. Very good condition with minor wear commensurate with age. Dimensions: 6” square x 3” high (box), 8.5” square (tray).
