Fantastic Japanese Kutani porcelain rendering of mythical god Hotei, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926. Fine, old patina, dazzling Kutani colors and patterning and delightfully animated countenance. Hotei is the legendary god of happiness, laughter, abundance and the wisdom of contentment. A remarkably skillful depiction, demonstrating wonderful imagination and crafting. Very good condition. Dimensions: 17" x12" x 8".
