Beautiful Japanese isho-dansu or clothing chest tansu, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Fashioned wholly of warm, lightweight kiri (paulownia) wood.  Bold, traditional metalwork features circular lockplates and heavy hirute style drawer pulls. Decorative bracketing in charming fan shape surrounds the entire piece.  Long, deep drawers and a pair of smaller ones offer generous storage space. A delightful and functional piece exhibiting Japanese style and tradition. Comes with customized wood stand.  Very good condition. Dimensions:  26.5” high w/stand, 34.5” wide, 16.5” deep.
