Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Fine small gold lacquer covered kogo kobako decorated with silver and gold lacquered flower buds and leaves in hiramaki-e on a polished ground. Meiji Period. Its exterior imagery describes a charming scene surrounded by clouds done in kirikane (cut-gold pieces). Inside, the box is decorated in dense nashiji gold lacquer. The box is marked on the upper right-hand corner of the lid with The Tale of Genji Chapter number 26 (Tokonatsu).
