Beautiful Japanese tsugaru lacquer display stand, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926. Exceptional technique accomplished by application of various colors in drips and patches and the introduction of tiny pieces of mother-of-pearl. The layers pile up, producing a marbled strata that is then sanded smooth, revealing a stunning mosaic. An exceptional piece in very good condition, perfect for shrine, doll or ikebana display. Dimensions: 3.5” x 11.5” x 18.5”.
