Handsome Japanese isho-dansu or clothing chest tansu, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912. Fashioned wholly of lightweight kiri (paulownia) and cedar woods with rich, dark finish.  Bold, traditional metalwork features rectangular lockplates and heavy warabite style drawer pulls. Decorative bracketing surrounds the entire piece.  Long, deep drawers offer generous storage space. A sublime and functional piece exhibiting Japanese style and tradition. Comes with customized wood stand.  (For companion piece see item TJ15L62A).  Very good condition. Dimensions:  25.5” high, 38” wide, 17” deep.
