Bizen, along with oribe and tokoname, is one of the oldest kilns in Japan, going back centuries. Rustic and charming handmade features.  Ideal for the tea ceremony kaiseki meal.  Lovely form overall, wonderful handmade feeling, and appealing rough glaze texture.  A beautiful example of Bizen yaki, one of Japan's best known classic and ancient pottery styles loved for its use of natural shapes and the rich color of the clay.
