Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Exceptional, old Japanese lacquered wood and gilt seated Buddha in zushi traveling shrine, late Edo period, c. 1800-1868.  Richly patinated gilt finish; gloss black lacquer on case.  Detailed carving throughout, including delicate mandorla, lotus throne and flowing robes.  Benevolent pose.  Wonderful item for home or traveling shrine.
