Exceptional Japanese handworked bronze okimono pair of rats with Daikoku’s lucky mallet, Meiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Wonderful detail of charmingly rendered, lifelike creatures.  Dynamic metal work with a great sense of composition and imagination.  Great for 2008, Year of the Rat!  A striking example in very good condition.  Dimensions:  7” high, 13” long, 9” deep.
