Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Fabulous Japanese bronze okinomo, Jurojin, god of longevity, Meiiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Rendered as an old man with heavy beard, he carries a holy staff and is said to know the life span of all living beings.  Here he is accompanied by the minogame, long-tailed tortoise, a mythological beast also representing long life.  Heavyweight bronze with rich, dark patina.  Highly detailed features, benevolent countenance, extraordinary detail in flowing beard and robes.
