Description Return Policy Ask About Layaway   Marvelous Japanese bronze okinomo koro incense burner, Jurojin, god of longevity, astride recumbent deer, Meiiji period, c. 1868-1912.  Rendered as an old man with heavy beard, he carries a holy scepter and a scroll said to hold the life span of all living beings.  Here he is shown with a gentle deer, as is often the case.  Heavyweight bronze with rich, dark patina.  Highly detailed features, benevolent countenance, extraordinary detail in facial features, flowing beard and robes.
