Extraordinary Japanese black Raku ware ceramic tea bowl, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926. Glorious example of famed ceramic originating in 16th-century in Kyoto prefecture.  Rich, thick black glaze, fine texture and form with whimsical rendering of Mt. Fuji. A unique and highly appealing item for the tea ceremony practitioner or enthusiast. Raku potter’s seal mark on underside.  Comes with inscribed tomobako kiri wood storage box. Very good condition.  Dimensions:  3” high, 4.25” diameter.
