Remarkable antique Japanese maru style obi, Taisho period, c. 1912-1926. Pure silk, fully patterned on both sides, luxuriously heavyweight. Highly detailed motif includes abundantly patterned and highly detailed phoenix motif with pine on cream background. Traditionally wrapped around waist and tied, but also makes a fabulous table runner, window dressing, or wall décor. Dimensions: approximately 4 yards long, 13" wide. Very good condition.
