Striking Chinese Western Han dynasty cocoon ritual jar, c. 206 bc-24 ad.  Terra cotta earthenware with slight traces of reddish color. A Ming qi (tomb object) in the shape of a silk worm cocoon and likely belonged to a wealthy silk merchant.  A rare and formidable find!  Very good condition.  Dimensions:  5" diameter (top), 12" high, 12" wide.
